Every building has natal Flying Stars — a set of fixed energetic influences present from the moment the roof is installed. These stars include two core energy types: the Water Stars and the Mountain Stars.

• Mountain Stars influence health, vitality, relationships, and inner wellbeing.

These stars are fixed to the structure and form the energetic blueprint of the home or business. Working with them is considered advanced Feng Shui — and must be handled professionally. Flying the stars within a building is highly specific and cannot be approximated. If not done correctly, the guidance provided won’t help — and in some cases, it may make things worse.

Supporting the Prosperous, Depleting the Challenging

• Prosperous Water Stars can be enhanced with water features and elemental support according to the Five Element Theory.

• Challenging Water Stars must be depleted using remedies and intentional design to weaken their energy and reduce its impact. These energies should never be supported.

• Prosperous Mountain Stars are strengthened by mountain symbolism — such as tall, solid furniture, elevated forms, or mountain artwork.

• Challenging Mountain Stars must be depleted, not activated — meaning you’d want low furniture, gentle shapes, and remedies that weaken their presence.

Understanding what’s in your home matters. Without this knowledge, it’s possible to accidentally activate a star that should be weakened, simply by placing the wrong item in the wrong space.

Flying Stars vs Form and Compass Feng Shui

Form and Compass Feng Shui work with physical surroundings and directional energies. Flying Stars adds a third — and critical — layer: time.

The Flying Stars are time-coded energies. They don’t just sit in a compass sector — they have meaning based on when the building was built and how it’s oriented. And most importantly, Flying Stars only affect you if you spend time in their energy.

This is why spaces like bedrooms, offices, living rooms, and especially your front entrance are so significant — they are either continuously activated or frequently used. The more time you spend in a space, the more influence its stars have over your health, wealth, and life circumstances.

Be Careful With Annual Flying Stars

Each year, Annual Flying Stars shift into new sectors of the home. While this layer adds helpful seasonal information, it must always be interpreted in context with the natal stars already in that space.

Unfortunately, misinformation spreads easily — especially online, where unqualified voices promote simplified tips like “put a red candle here to boost the annual star 9.” While it sounds harmless, this kind of advice can have serious consequences.

For example, if Annual Star 9 (a fire element) lands in a bedroom that already holds a Mountain Star 5 (a very challenging earth star), that fire strengthens the earth, worsening the effects. If someone is already unwell or experiencing misfortune, this simple “enhancement” could intensify the issue. And if you place red objects in that space — a colour that feeds fire and earth — you further empower the imbalance.

This is why annual stars should never be enhanced blindly. They form dynamic relationships with the building’s natal energies, and without understanding those relationships, any attempt to manipulate them can backfire.
